About MVGS

The Moreno Valley Genealogical Society (MVGS) is a non-profit, educational organization in Moreno Valley, California. Since our establishment in 1998, we have been providing guest speakers at our meetings, sponsoring trips to genealogical libraries and holding educational seminars.

Our purpose is to promote interest in the hobby of genealogical research, to collect and preserve local information and history. We have resources available in our library which holds books on topics throughout the world of genealogy, along with many pamphlets, and our collection of Moreno Valley obituaries from 2001 to 2006.

We maintain a library which covers many genealogical subjects, maps, family histories, and other helpful aids. Our members are experienced in research in many areas ranging from French-Canadian and Mennonite research areas of information on local areas. We maintain a collection of obituaries from the local area and have compiled a directory of the graves at the Perris Cemetery. We provide encouragement to beginning genealogy researchers and stimulate interest in the hobby. Since we have been helped by many others, we want to give back to the community by offering small suggestions and helps for researchers. Our library is also located in the Family History Center on Old Lake Drive, Moreno Valley.

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery,

and today is a gift; that is why they call it the present.
